The SGR Group is structured with a holding company, Gruppo Società Gas Rimini S.p.A., and various companies within it. SGR already had an existing contract with Google. In fact, many of the companies regularly used GWS, each within its own tenant, while others had different email and collaboration services. This represented a limitation in collaboration among colleagues belonging to the different companies of the Group and led to a view of corporate data that was too compartmentalized, as well as making it impossible to have a unified management of user operations. A single tool for everyone was needed — highly collaborative and capable of enhancing interactions among the various companies and improving processes. Furthermore, many of its employees are technicians who work in the field and perform their tasks using tablets or mobile devices. It was therefore essential to have tools that could ensure good communication among people and quick access to documents even under different mobility conditions. To overcome these challenges, SGR Group turned to Dinova for a digital innovation project that could meet these needs with expertise and speed.
Dinova designed and carried out the migration of the entire digital ecosystem of the SGR Group onto a single Google Workspace panel. The project was completed in just 3 months and as a joint effort together with the group’s system administrators. The operation began with those who already had the Google Workspace platform and then proceeded to the other services. In total, the migration involved several Google Workspace panels, one Exchange server, and two IMAP servers. While the migration was underway, employees of the SGR Group companies were guaranteed work continuity, with a maximum downtime equal to a lunch break.
Innovative and tailor-made solutions to improve collaboration and productivity
With SGR Group, Dinova adopted a personalized approach, starting with an Assessment phase to understand the client’s operational and business needs, followed by the implementation of the unified Google Workspace panel. Training on the new Google Workspace tools was also included: from shared Drive storage spaces to Calendar sharing, Meet videoconferences, and other web applications that allow people to collaborate effectively on shared documents, eliminating any versioning issues related to files not stored in the Cloud.
The combined set of the features just described and the integrations make the Google Cloud suite the ideal choice for the evolution and growth of productivity — and therefore of the company. The data are now stored in a single tenant, and employees can make the most of functionalities that provide the company with significant advantages in terms of time and resource optimization.
