01 Starting Point

01 Need

The Sofidel Group, a world leader in the production of paper for hygienic and domestic use, had the following needs:

  • Gain detailed insights into product and content consumption in each country
  • Integrate and analyze data from previously disconnected online and offline sources
  • Improve flow management and make data analysis faster and more accurate
  • Reduce data analysis costs by optimizing resources based on workloads

02 Discovery

02 Direction

Dinova developed an advanced cloud data analysis platform for Sofidel that allowed it to:

  • Collect, classify, and analyze structured, unstructured, and streaming data
  • Integrate all data sources, such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, and offline information
  • Create customized dashboards that can be shared in real time across departments
  • Provide actionable insights for targeted marketing campaigns and more effective content strategies

03 How

03 The challenge

Innovation is an essential asset for the development of the Sofidel Group and is also reflected in the design of its products, such as the packaging of sustainable items. Its products — including toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, and napkins — are distributed on a large scale, mainly in Europe and the United States, and must meet the needs of very diverse people.

Knowing in detail the audience of each product line and the specific needs of consumers has become the key to creating more targeted marketing campaigns and therefore to offering personalized experiences and content at every stage of the customer journey. To achieve this, an advanced data analysis solution was needed — one capable of leveraging the vast amount of both online and offline data to provide faster and more tailored responses to customer needs.

04 What

04 Solution by Dinova

To address these challenges, Dinova designed and developed for Sofidel an advanced centralized data analytics platform, fully managed in the Cloud, capable of ensuring maximum scalability, speed, and security while at the same time reducing costs, time, and resources devoted to maintaining the IT architecture for data analysis.

Thanks to its simple, cloud-based management, the company’s marketing teams can analyze and visualize all relevant data. Custom reports and dashboards can be shared in real time with all other involved departments. All data sources have been integrated into the platform: Google Analytics, Google Ads, offline information, and more.

Previously, data from both online and offline sources were collected and analyzed in two separate silos, whereas they now communicate to provide detailed knowledge about product consumption and content in each country. Sofidel can now collect, store, clean, classify, analyze, visualize, and ultimately use all the company’s valuable data across the entire EMEA region — structured, unstructured, streaming, online data, or metrics coming from the group’s partners and retail outlets’ offline sources.

Moreover, it is now possible to find information that previously remained hidden within the various analytics platforms and from external sources that did not communicate with each other. This information now helps enrich traditional metrics and KPIs.

The data platform therefore makes it possible to accurately understand customers’ needs and behaviors, in order to offer them more targeted and useful experiences, content, and promotions - both online and in stores.
